Position Title : Applied AI Engineer
Job Desiscription : The Role As an Applied AI Engineer, you'll bring the frontier of AI research and engineering to Rowspace, transforming how our platform understands and surfaces critical financial insights. In a typical week, you might build and productionize an agent in response to customer feedback, design evaluation frameworks for AI performance, and implement advanced retrieval systems to make the most of AI for finance workflows. --Seniority 1 - 10 years of experience in software engineering working on applied AI; ideally 3-7 years of experience but open to junior (1 YoE) to very senior (L7/senior staff range) candidates. ===Work experience --Built and productionized AI in a core product as a software engineer at top AI-native startups like Harvey, Rogo, Sierra, Decagon (looking for experience working with LLM applications or agentic workflows) --Full-stack engineering experience (e.g., React/TypeScript, Python/Node). --Experience at an early-stage, high-growth startup. ===Education --Degree from a top 25 CS program --Research publications in relevant area ===Hard skills --Strong background in LLMs, RAG, and agentic AI workflows. --Fine-tuning models for specific outputs --Experience with retrieval systems, embeddings, and knowledge graphs. ===Soft skills --Clear, compelling motivation for joining an early-stage (Series A) startup. ===Miscellaneous --Note: engineers based in NYC should have 4-5+ years of experience unless they have experience working at a strong startup/have a top 25 CS degree ===Salary $150K - $300K Equity Competitive equity On-site work policy 5 days in-office in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY.
